Apart from it’s horrendous unreliability, my C4 hatch has some traces of what can only be described as desperate penny pinching by the bean-counters at Citroën.
Exhibit A:
The microphone for the mobile phone hands-free kit is on the wrong side of the car, if it’s right-hand drive. Result: nobody can hear me.
Exhibit B:
The clap-hands wipers are different sizes. This would work great if I sat on the other side but I don’t. Due do this, the top of the screen on the right isn’t properly cleared. Result: if you’re tall like me this is a every-wet-day reminder that Citroën couldn’t be arsed to swap them over for their right-hand drive customers. Thanks guys.
Exhibit C:
The glove box lid suggests a cavernous compartment behind. Nope, it’s mostly taken up with the fuse box on right-hand drive models.
As an aside, although I bought it second-hand (if you must know, it was the only Golf-sized car in my price range with cruise control and air-con – which has since stopped working), it came with a fire blanket in the boot. Slightly unsettling, I have left it there just in case.
